Gold And Orange Pumpkins

1. I purchased these pumpkins at “Home Goods”. I wanted something affordable.

2. Before painting these pumpkins I removed the electric cords and using soap

~n~ water I proceeded to wash off any debris on the pumpkins before applying the paint.

3. I painted 2 coats on both pumpkins with Annie Sloan Old While Chalk Paint. This paint is amazing it covers anything without primer. (I let them dry between each coat of paint.)

4. I left them to dry for 24 hours and proceeded to give them a light puff with a soft cloth.

5. Using a very watered down acrylic paint of Burnt Sienna I washed over the stems and creases of the pumpkins allowing shading around the mouth, nose and eyes.

This part is where you can have your own creative spirit

adding more paint different colors the choice is yours

6. Taking the pumpkins outside in a well ventilated area I sprayed them with a matt clear spray. I purchased mine at Home Depot. Let dry before bringing them inside so that the smell will evaporate.

7. Insert your lights and light those babies up!!!

Just a Peek At Something I Am

Finishing Up

I have been working on this off and on since 2010…Mmmm! I think it is about time to finish her up! I will still be diligently working on the book illustration, but I am going to put aside an hour or so to finish this puppy up! There is something to be said when one puts a commitment on Paper!

Fall Autumn Leaves Pumpkins

I Love It All

Last week was a little balmy around here at Kettle Cove, but the last few days’ temperatures have dropped a little “burr”. Just enough for the woodstove to be fired up…Yea! I adore the fall smells, acorns dropping and that cool crisp air that make me dig out my sweaters like a squirrel digging up his nuts. I took out my heaty blanket yesterday and I can’t wait to wrap myself up in it like a little snausage.

I am just crazy about decorating, boxes everywhere, unwrapping all those lightey up pumpkins! I have one that my mom made when I got married, oh the memories that pumkin has seen! Unpacking these goodies is like opening a scrapbook of my past fall holidays. I sit on the floor deciding which pumpkin should go where, while I reflect on past autumns and look forward to new snapshot to add to my memory.

This fall is a little different I have added some new decorations which I will share with you along with the DIY information. But until then I will be preparing the house for fall! Can’t wait to share.

A very lovable character! When Skippy the fox is not watching over the adorable Hammies, he can be found hanging out at Smugglers Cove where the other mischievous foxes are plotting new schemes of adventure!

A little bit of a rogue, Skippy is usually in conflict between right and wrong, but in the end his endearing qualities emerge and good always overshadow his dark side. A vagabond bouncing from cove to cove he will bring a playfulness that will bring joy to your heart!

Every story needs a Skippy!
