The World of Kettle Cove

Each Hammy has their own personality. Some are brave, some are sneaky, while others are playful and full of joy. Coco is gentle and stubborn, her intentions are good, but she leaps before she looks. Bean is fearless and longs for adventure. The Kettle Cove community is full of inventors, fishermen and healers.

Life at the cove isn’t without its dangers, though. Boondoogles prowl the village edge, looking to cause trouble and chaos for the Hammies. But Skippy the Fox is there to watch over and protect them.

Kettle Cove is full of rocky bluffs, beach plum bushes and coastal charm. This is the world where the Hammies live, work and thrive together. Love, kindness and generosity are cherished in these little nooks among the reeds.

The Hammies live for the simple moments. Sitting together around the campfire, eating seaweed pudding and sharing laughter is just one way they connect with each other. Look beneath the grassy brush where they go about their days, and you too will share in their innate happiness and secret adventures.

Gentle, but stubborn, this girl has courage and determination that make her a unique asset on any adventure. She and her best friend Bean often imagine themselves as explorers and are inseparable on their expeditions.

Like many Hammies, Bean is bold and fearless. Always seeking out new realms to discover, he finds trouble more often than not. Bosom buddies with Coco, he always has an open ear or a helping paw for his friends.

Skippy the Fox protects the inhabitants—particularly the Hammies—from the prowling Boondoogles that skulk around Kettle Cove. In return, the Hammies pay him 30 berries a month. What the Hammies don’t know is Skippy is hiding a heart of gold, and would do it for free, but enjoys his swarmy reputation too much to tell them.

Extraordinarily clever, Tinsel loves to learn and always has his nose in a book, preferring knowledge to practical use. A true trickster, he revels in high jicks and playing jokes on the others. Some of which backfire on this inquisitive Hammy.

Never without her hand-knitted sweater and often with arms laden with jars of jam and other delicacies, Miss Elderberry can be found selling her wares at Gull Square at Kettle Cove. Full of sincerity and devotion to her craft, she doubles as the village’s favorite cook and healer.

A Beacon to all who live in Kettle Cove, Old Salty is often found consulting his seashell compass while manning Portland Head Light. While known to be slightly surly and preferring his solitude, Old Salty has a nurturing spirit that safely guides the ships into the harbor and the Hammies to marvelous decisions.
